San Francisco is Making Lists
San Francisco is a city that regular makes the lists of “top cities” to visit or live in. We recently made it to the top of the best cities for single straight men to live in according to AskMen. And we’ve popped up on another few lists that I’ve been pointed in the direction of recently:
- 2nd Best American City to Live and Work In. There were nearly thirty cities that ranked better than here to live in according to this survey but they were all international cities with the exception of Honolulu which beat us out by one spot. Boston follows right behind us. This survey considered everything from public health and safety to quality of restaurants and cultural activities.
- Best City for the Outdoors. I don’t happen to love the weather here much myself but a lot of people do which is one reason that Forbes says San Francisco is the best city for the outdoors. I do agree that the beautiful nature here should put us on that list.
- Top High Tech Cities. It’s no surprise that we’re on this list but San Jose, Washington and Boston all beat us out.
- The 14 Best Destinations for Summer 2009. We’re not the top choice though; people are recommended to go to warmer climates including San Diego, Tampa and Vegas. We’re there though and part of the reason is that the cost of hotels here has decreased 25% since last year. I’ve already started seeing the increase in tourist traffic in my neighborhood so I guess people are listening to this.
And of course in my opinion we’re at the top of the list for sexy cities.

Hey great compilation of lists, I haven’t seen these before. I featured a couple lists on my blog, like the AskMen Best City in the World to Live (3rd!) and Most Creative Cities in the world (3rd!)
