Stay Tuned for San Francisco is Sexy

My apologies to the readers who have been asking me what happened to the blog. As I noted in my previous update, things got a bit crazy here. They’ve managed to stay that way somehow. In addition to all of the personal things going on, there is tons of stuff going on in the city itself. June is a busy sexy month here as many of you already know!

I’m working on creating a new personal work schedule. I’ve got the kinks almost worked out. When that’s done, this blog will resume again on a daily basis. You can expect to see that happen as of the first week in July.

Thanks for your support. I hope that you’re having a sexy time!

Shhh! San Francisco is Sexy is Sleeping

You may have noticed that the blog was a little bit quiet last week. It’s going to stay that way for another week or two. That’s because I’m traveling a bit to see my family. It’s a working vacation but the time I’m spending on the computer there is going to have to be devoted to those important people known as clients.

San Francisco is Sexy isn’t going anywhere … just taking a breather while I’m away.

In the meantime, some of the blogs that I recommend for your reading pleasure include:

Back soon …

2 Kinky Salon Events this Weekend

Kinky Salon is a great members-only play space. There are gorgeous themed rooms and beautiful people of various genders and orientations. And there are lots of different fun events held here. Two of those events are happening on Saturday:

  1. Kinky Salon Booty Camp is holding a class on Themes, Costumes and Invitation Ideas for throwing your own Arty Sexy Party. It’s all about the creative process and I imagine the tips on costumes would be useful for a variety of things since there’s always something going on here that you can wear a costume to! This class will even teach you why it’s good for you to wear costumes. Guest speaker is Rose Pistola.
  2. Holy Moly. People who already know all about costumes can attend this themed party filled with nuns and school boys. Multiple DJs, a confessional booth, live sensual dance performances, live music and lots of other stuff is going on there.

Kinky Salon always has lots of fun stuff going on. This weekend is just one slice of that.

10 Sexy Things About Red Union Salon

I went to go get my haircut earlier this week. It was a much-needed haircut - not so much because my hair was looking bad but because I had been feeling decidedly unsexy and I really needed that boost of sexiness that a great new haircut can provide.

I get my hair cut at Red Union Salon over on Union Street. It’s a sexy place to get a haircut. In fact, I can think of 10 Sexy Things About Red Union Salon right off of the top of my head:

  1. Sexy stylists. I hate when you go into a salon and kind of cringe when you see that your stylist isn’t looking so hot. It just makes you feel wary. That’s not the case here where the stylists are sexy enough to give you confidence in their ability to make you sext too. I get my hair done by Erika who owns the salon but everyone else that I’ve met there is also sexy and fun.
  2. Sexy hair colors. I usually do my color myself but this week I decided to get it done there. Erika used this great Redken hair color called Merlot that’s super hot.
  3. Sexy artwork. One of my favorite things about this salon is that they hang local artwork on the walls and have gallery shows. The work that is there right now is from John Benko. It’s this terrific swirly, magical fantasy artwork. Several of the pieces are large paintings of curvaceous wine glasses that are totally sexy.
  4. Sexy beverages. Speaking of wine, there is wine made available to you if you want to sip it while getting your hair colored. You can also get tea or water if that’s more your thing.
  5. Sexy location. The salon is located on Union Street at Buchanan in a second story room that looks out onto Union Street. There are beautiful people passing by and you’re located next to all sorts of sexy stuff including clothing boutiques and chocolate shops.
  6. Sexy building. The salon also happens to be conveniently located in a building with other businesses that also offer sexy services such as massage and day spa services.
  7. Sexy setting. All of this leads to a setting that is totally sexy. The salon is one of those places where the energy is just right. You feel good when you’re in there.
  8. Sexy relaxation. One of the things that I realized when I was there this week is that this positive energy makes it really easy to relax in this salon. You can’t be beautiful if you aren’t relaxed! Many salons have overwhelming music and too many things going on and the effect is exciting but not relaxing. Everything at this salon works right to let you really relax.
  9. Sexy is in the details. This all comes together because every little detail in this salon was clearly chosen to be there because of how it enhances the place. From the lighting to the furniture to the ease of booking an appointment, everything is taken care of easily here.
  10. Sexy haircuts. All of these other things are great but they wouldn’t matter much if they didn’t result in sexy haircuts. The fact that the haircuts coming out of this salon are super hot is really what makes this is a sexy place to get a haircut.

Note: I’ve written about Red Union here before. I don’t get any special perks for doing this. I just really love the place!

San Francisco is Making Lists

San Francisco is a city that regular makes the lists of “top cities” to visit or live in. We recently made it to the top of the best cities for single straight men to live in according to AskMen. And we’ve popped up on another few lists that I’ve been pointed in the direction of recently:

  1. 2nd Best American City to Live and Work In. There were nearly thirty cities that ranked better than here to live in according to this survey but they were all international cities with the exception of Honolulu which beat us out by one spot. Boston follows right behind us. This survey considered everything from public health and safety to quality of restaurants and cultural activities.
  2. Best City for the Outdoors. I don’t happen to love the weather here much myself but a lot of people do which is one reason that Forbes says San Francisco is the best city for the outdoors. I do agree that the beautiful nature here should put us on that list.
  3. Top High Tech Cities. It’s no surprise that we’re on this list but San Jose, Washington and Boston all beat us out.
  4. The 14 Best Destinations for Summer 2009.  We’re not the top choice though; people are recommended to go to warmer climates including San Diego, Tampa and Vegas. We’re there though and part of the reason is that the cost of hotels here has decreased 25% since last year. I’ve already started seeing the increase in tourist traffic in my neighborhood so I guess people are listening to this.

And of course in my opinion we’re at the top of the list for sexy cities.

What About When You’re Not Feeling Sexy?

I’ve been in something of a slump lately. Nothing’s particularly wrong; I’m just in one of those moods where I’d rather be hibernating and hanging out with myself than out and about in the world around me. These moods never last long but they’re always a bit frustrating when they come around.

What I’ve noticed is that these moods are a bit more frustrating when living in San Francisco than they are when living somewhere less interesting. I think that’s because there are always so many sexy things that I want to do here that I feel like I’m really missing out if I don’t get out and do them. In contrast, I don’t really feel like I miss much when I’m hanging out in Tucson and not going out to fancy events because just hanging out is a standard day in Tucson.

It’s harder to get excited about doing something sexy here when you’re not feeling it, too. A lot of the sexy things that there are to do here do require a lot of energy. There are costumes to be put together. There are people to connect with. There are sexy games to play. It takes a lot of work and if you’re not feeling sexy then that work can feel like a bit too much.

So what do you do here when you’re not feeling sexy but you don’t want to be left out either? Here are a few of my tricks to get through times like these:

  • Go to something more quietly sexy. The great thing about San Francisco is that there are many different levels of sexy here. Don’t feel like going to a play party or checking out a burlesque show? Maybe a sexy glass of wine or a sexy movie is a better choice right now.
  • Do something sexy alone. Being around a lot of people can be draining during moods like these. Find something sexy here that you can do alone. Hit up Good Vibes for a new toy or book of erotica, for example.
  • Remember that other sexy things are right around the corner. Sometimes you really do just need to burrow into your own hole and deal with yourself. Don’t fret; there is always something sexy to do in San Francisco so even if you miss out today you’re going to find a whole sexy world waiting for you when you re-emerge.
  • Get away. Maybe you just need to get away for a little bit. Go to a place that’s about more frumpy. Put on your sweats and go shopping at Wal-Mart with your mom for a few days. You’ll probably discover that you’re ready to get right back into sexy San Francisco life when you return.

It’s not fun being in these un-sexy moods but they don’t have to get the best of you either!
