Only in San Francisco do people get together to masturbate in a shared space for the purpose of raising money for a good cause. That’s right, it’s time for the annual Masturbate-a-thon at the Center for Sex and Culture. What you’ll find here are masturbation competitions, live performances and sexy film screenings that all raise awareness of the positive aspects of masturbation.

Competitions for the event include having the most orgasms (the record right now is 6 for guys, almost 50 for gals), stamina for lasting the longest (one man went for eight hours) and squirting the furthest distance. There’s also a tag team relay. Performances include reports on orgasm news and a stage for screamers. There will also be a film screening of last year’s winners from the Good Vibrations Independent Erotic Film Festival .

It all happens on Saturday, May 2nd starting at 3pm. The general admission will last until 10 pm. Those people who are still trying to go on to beat the competition in terms of lasting the longest will be able to keep on going throughout the night until those records are broken. Those people who only want to watch can get tickets to be voyeurs. There are two voyeur seating times - from 11-4 and from 4- close. Tickets for that start at $15.
