The Erection of a Phallic Structure in San Francisco
I recently wrote a post here on the site about my seven favorite phallic structures in San Francisco. It got a lot of attention and a lot of feedback from people who had tons to share about these buildings and the other phallic buildings they see throughout the city.
One of the messages I received was this really cool old photo set of the erection of one my favorite phallic buildings - the Transamerica Pyramid:
The photos come from 1972 when the building was first being erected. They were bought in an auction in the 1980’s which is a good thing because they were otherwise destined to become dust in the landfill. Instead, the entire film set is now archived by SF Images.
They have a whole collection of historic local photos that have been professionally digitally remastered back to perfection. They offer them for sale and can even frame them using a local eco-framing service. Learn more from their blog.
