2 SF Follies Women Are Doing Their Own Thing

I have been meaning to write something about Bisceglie’s SF Follies for weeks now. Months, maybe. Ever since I saw the very first announcement that this musical show was starting, I’ve wanted to see it. And then things happened and life got busy and I still haven’t had the chance to go which means that I haven’t been able to review it which is the reason that I haven’t written it up yet. I’m going to go soon and I’ll do the review whenever I do (but you shouldn’t wait on that to get your own tickets because it’s not going to be here much longer - the show was extended but only through late April).

But even though I haven’t gone, I’ve come up with a good excuse to write about it because I’ve learned that two different sexy female performers who are in this show are also doing their own creative things and both of those different events are coming up. So, first let me give you the basics of what I know about SF Follies and then I’ll tell you more about Tenaya Hurst and Tiffany Joy and why you should see these rockin’ women.

SF Follies is is a sexy musical show that is designed to take you through a fun educational tour of the history of San Francisco via song, dance, costumes and revelry. I’m thinking that it’s kind of like Beach Blanket Babylon (which everyone here should see once) but that includes more stuff from different decades of SF’s past (and future). The very basic description of the show mentions a “nearly naked gold miner”, flappers, secrets and scandals which all sounds sexy enough for me. Sure it makes fun of San Francisco a little bit but all in good cheer.

Enter Tenaya Hurst. If her name sounds familiar to you it could be because I mentioned her work on this site once before when I went to go see her truly unique sexy show “Tenaya Rocks“. Tenaya is a really creative woman who has combined her passions for anthropology, geology and singing into one show that uses sexy cabaret performance to teach the audience about rocks. And that show can be seen in San Francisco again on one night only - March 21st - immediately following that night’s SF Follies show. Tenaya is part of SF Follies and she’s been giving the chance to add her performance to the usual performance for just that night. So mark your calendars for Saturday and see if there are any tickets left.

And Tenaya isn’t the only woman from SF Follies that I know of who is doing her own creative thing. There’s also a sexy singer here, Tiffany Joy (who I first learned about when I got the chance to interview her for an old blog I had: San Fran Voice) who is part of SF Follies and also has her own show coming up soon. She’s performing live in concert on April 4th also on the SF Follies stage following that night’s show. So either of those nights is a really good night to check out SF Follies and see San Francisco’s hot creative women at work.
