7 Favorite Breast-Shaped Features of San Francisco

I recently did a post on all of the phallic structures that I see scattered across the San Francisco skyline. After I did, numerous people pointed out to me that you can also find lots of breast-shaped buildings and natural features in this city.

If you’re more about boobs than penises, then perhaps you’ll find yourself titillated by the following 7 breast-shaped buildings and natural features in San Francisco:

1. California Academy of Sciences

Well there are some strange things going on with the cleavage area here but I definitely see breasts at the center of this green-roofed scientific building. It’s such a family-friendly place that it’s got milky warmth written all over it.

2. Lombard Street

There is definitely something succulent about the natural curves of this city. There are hills everywhere we go and as you walk up and down them or look out across them from somewhere with a great view, you may start thinking about how similar they are to the curves of women. This is particularly likely to happen on the many curves of Lombard Street.

3. Twin Peaks

In addition to Lombard Street and the many other hills that are within the main part of the city, we do also have one set of hills here that are quite breast-shaped indeed. Twin peaks has a terrific view so we don’t look at the peaks themselves all that often but if you take a close look … yes, there it is. Come to mama …

4.Palace of Fine Arts.

Well, you only get one breasts here but that seems somehow fitting for an architecturally beautiful place. It harkens back to the old clay statues of one-breasted women that I vaguely remember learning about in my high school art history classes.

5. Japanese Tea Garden Bridge

Again, you only get one here. But picture its mirror image sitting right next to it. Wouldn’t you just want to bury your head between the two?

6. Golden Gate Bridge.

I had this on my list of phallic structures because that’s what I see when I look at the bridge but there was a lot of dissent about that from readers. Someone told me that he thinks it looks a lot more like breasts. A bit abstract but I suppose I can see that when you look at it lying flat which is exactly how it’s erected, nipples poking into the sky. What do you think?

7. Transamerica Building.

That same person told me that the Transamerica Pyramid is also more breasts than penis. It was hard to win me over on this one but he said to think of Madonna in her cone-shaped bra era. Hm. It’s only one breast and it’s a stretch but really who am I to argue with a Madonna reference in this city?

So what do you think? Any other breast-shaped stuff in San Francisco? Or were you more interested in the phallic buildings from the previous post?

This list isn’t complete without SF’s classic architectural nod to the female form: St. Mary’s Cathedral!

@ Humuhumu - You are SO RIGHT! I have heard of this several times before and always manage to promptly forget it but it definitely should’ve been on my list.
