Sexy Films at SF IndieFest

The 11th Annual San Francisco Independent Film Festival starts tomorrow with films playing at The Roxie, the Valencia Theatre and Shattuck Cinemas over in Berkeley. You can see almost any type of film that you want to see at this event which runs through the 22nd of the month. And of course, that includes some sexy stuff.

For your calendar, here are some of the films that look to be sexy at SF IndieFest this year:

  • No Strings Attached. This is the film to be seen by anyone who is interested in the burlesque scene. It’s a documentary that was filmed at Tease-o-Rama last year by director Lisa Whitmer. It screens on Saturday February 7th at 2:45 and Sunday February 8th at 12:30 both at the Roxie.
  • Eugene. This story of loneliness involves sexual confusion and looks like it includes some beautiful stars. It plays at the Roxie at 7:15 on the 8th and 9:30 on the 11th.
  • Harrison Montgomery. Technically not sexy, this movie about art and relationships in San Francisco’s Tenderloin just comes across as being filled with passion. It’s at 9:30 on the 7th and 7:15 on the 11th at the Roxie and also plays in Berkeley on the 20th.
  • Make Out with Violence. Who doesn’t want to see a coming-of-age zombie movie? It plays on both the 13th and the 16th at 9:30 at the Roxie.
  • The Teeth of the Night. Here’s another zombie movie. This one is described as sexy and French and gruesome and funny. It’s on the 14th at 11:45 and the 15th at 9:30 at the Roxie.
  • Men’s Story Project. This documentary is more about sexuality than sexiness itself … it’s a look at the meaning of masculinity as explored through the eyes and art of 16 Bay Area artists. It’s on at 2:45 on the 8th and 7:15 on the 10th at the Roxie and plays in Berkeley on the 22nd.
  • Registered Sex Offender. In this film, a fictional documentary crew follows around a registered sex offender making a funny political statement about society. This one plays on the 13th and the 16th at the Rozie at 7:15 (prior to Make Out with Violence mentioned above).

Also I’d like to specifically draw attention to the Japanese Pinku Films. Pinku is apparently a brand of low-budget soft core porn coming out of Japan. The IndieFest is featuring four films from this genre in their 2009 festival:

  • New Tokyo Decadence: Slave. This film is based on the true dominatrix story of the star of the movie. It’s at 9:30 on February 7th at The Roxie.
  • S+M Hunter. S&M goes manga in this totally inappropriate film that also screens at 9:30 on the 7th at The Roxie.
  • The Bedroom. Involving a fetish club and a drug story, this film screens at the Roxie at 9:30 on Valentine’s Day. Take a lover.
  • Sexy Battle Girls. The catfighting, chastity-belt wearing star of this movie really just wants to fall in love. This one also screens at 9:30 on Valentine’s Day.

There are parties and other events associated with the film festival so pay attention to the schedule on the website.
