Bombshell Betty’s Pinup Workshop This Weekend

Bombshell Betty is known around the city for her burlesque performances and classes but it’s not only burlesque that she teaches. She also does a workshop that I’m told is really cool where you learn how to look like a pin-up model and then take photographs like one as well.

In fact, I included a mention of these workshops on my post about local boudoir / pin-up photographers because the classes have come so well-recommended by others. The sad news is that they don’t happen locally all that often because these pinup workshops are actually an international tour. The good news is that the 2009 international pin-up modeling workshop tour has just started. It kicked off in New York and it’s headed back here this weekend.

This pin-up modeling workshop is a two-part workshop. In the first part of the workshop, you learn how to pose and move in front of the camera to get that great pin-up photography look that so many of us would love to have. You learn how to use props. You also learn how to let your personality shine through, something that I think Bombshell Betty is probably pretty good at teaching. Take a look at the Everyday Bombshell Challenge - a one-year-long, confidence-boosting, exercise-based bombshell-creating blog that she’s got going and you’ll see what mean.

In the second part of the pin-up workshop, you get help with your hair and make-up so that your overall look becomes that retro look that you want for pinup pictures. Then you get to have your flirty fun photo shoot. At the end, you end up with a disk of photos of you looking your cutest. The total cost for eight hours of modeling lessons, the photo shoot and the disk with all of your images is just $250 which I would say is a bargain for what you get.

The workshop takes place here tomorrow, January 31st, from noon to eight over at Bombshell Betty’s studio. Additional information here.
