There are quite a few wine festivals in San Francisco throughout the year. Those people who think that zinfandel is the way to go when it comes to wine are going to want to know that the annual zinfandel festival is this weekend. It caught my attention in part because I’m a wine drinker and in part because the name of the event is “unmask your passion”. What genius marketing for a wine event!

The website for the event describes the reason behind the name as follows:

“Unmask Your Passion” reflects our enthusiasm for America’s Heritage Wine–Zinfandel. It’s about the excitement we feel when we discover a Zinfandel new to us or taste a barrel sample from the latest vintage of one of our favorite wineries. “Unmask Your Passion” also reflects the personalities of Zinfandel–bold and celebratory, independent and unpretentious, refined and elegant, versatile and diverse.

I happen to think that wine is the best of the buzz-inducing beverages when it comes to the type of buzz that you get from it. That heady feeling is a precursor to all kinds of passion. Of course, you’re not going to this wine tasting festival to get your buzz on but I can see how your passionate side might get unmasked at an event like this one.
