There are all different types of porn out there to get you hot. Depending on your mood, you might want to get the vanilla stuff or you might want to get the hardcore fetish stuff. You may want to get something that you’ve seen before or you may want to get something new and titillating. And there are going to be sometimes that what you really want is to forego the traditional porn with all of its lighting and freaky angles and half-baked story lines in favor of something a little more raw and a little more real: the webcam.

The great thing about the webcam experience is that its real. When a hot girl or a hot guy or a hot couple sets up a webcam in the bedroom, you get to be a voyeur into something that is so open and honest and actual that you can feel like you are really a part of the action. You don’t necessarily get turned on by the specific sex(y) acts happening in that room but rather with the realness of the situation. You see the bad angles, the hear the funny sounds, you view the errors. And that realness of sex is what makes the webcam so perfect sometimes.

If you’re wondering why it is that I’m thinking of webcams right now, it’s not because I’ve been watching anybody on theirs. Instead, it is because I went out last night (after the Prop 8 protest) to see a one-woman live cabaret show that I’d been wanting to see called Tenaya Rocks. If there was one word that I could use to describe this live show, it would be SEXY. But if I were to be given a chance to offer up a second descriptive word, it would have to be REAL.

What appealed to me about the Tenaya Rocks show was that it was totally creative and different from anything else I’d ever heard of. It’s the one-woman musical cabaret creation of a chick who is into geology, anthropology and sexy musical theatre. Instead of boxing herself into the slot of studying rocks for the rest of her life, she created a musical performance about those rocks.

It’s a difficult show to describe because it really is unique from anything you’ve ever seen. There’s this educational component in which you actually find yourself learning about rocks and volcanoes and earthquakes from this smart sassy chick. You can easily watch this live performance and indulge your own fantasies of naughty school teachers or of being a professor with a sexy smart college student tossing ideas around your office with you late at night.

So you get this whole smart dimension to this sexy performance. And you get your money’s worth in terms of the music being fun and the performer’s voice being sultry and the three cabaret boys who perform with her being nice eye-candy with expressive faces and great bodies. But when it comes down to it, the reason that this live show is sexy is because it just feels really real.

There’s a bed in the middle of the set and there are several scenes in which Tenaya is on this bed in various positions with one or more of these cabaret boys. And the sense you get is that what you’re seeing is probably something really close to what you would see if there was a webcam in this chick’s bedroom. You get this sexiness that feels like it could be real sex. You don’t get this whole well-lit, glossed-over, airbrushed performance like you might at a high-end burlesque show or a big box production. What you get is a look at the true sexiness of a live person.

The show is super creative. And the chick who puts it on is really brave - not only in her creation of something truly unique and true to herself but in her willingness to put it out there and to put herself on display and to just be real. There is a lot of fakeness and trying to hard in many of the sexy things we see. But there is something really great and different about the kind of sexy that is just plain real. From the giggle that Tenaya gives on stage to the roll of her eyes that says she takes herself seriously enough but not too seriously, her realness is sexy.

And it’s worth seeing. She’s performing this show a few more times at Stagewerx. If you’re the kind of nerdy person who thinks that smart and real and sexy all go hand-in-hand, you want to see what she’s got to offer.
